The woman, according to various media reports, has sought protection for her and her family as she is allegedly receiving threats from multiple phone numbers.

The NCW reported that a woman approached them to lodge a complaint against three individuals dressed in civilian attire, alleging they identified themselves as Karnataka police. She also raised concerns about receiving numerous calls from unfamiliar numbers urging her to file a complaint against the accused. The NCW revealed that the woman had been coerced by a group of individuals into filing the harassment charges.

NCW in a post on X refused some of the media reports claiming that about  700 women filed complaints to the commission against Prajwal Revanna.

”NCW would like to state that 700 women have not made any complaints to NCW regarding the Prajwal Revanna case. Some media channels are falsely reporting this.”

The Karnataka Government has formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the allegation, and has already arrested Prajwal’s father, HD Revanna, who is MLA from Holenarasipura constituency in connection with alleged abduction of a victim.

Meanwhile, Prajwal’s uncle, former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had given a complaint to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot claiming that SIT is not doing investigation in a transparent manner.
